Dalton Papali'i

Biography: Papali'i made his professional debut for Auckland in 2017 before shifting south to represent Counties Manukau in 2020. He chose to play for the Patumahoe club because his father played here in the 1990s. He has spent the past few seasons playing Super Rugby with the Blues. The hard-working Papali'i became an instant hit with the Steelers and their fans. He played only a minor role with the union in 2020 due to his selection in the All Blacks. Papali'i proudly wore a Patumahoe jersey at an All Blacks club jersey photo shoot.

Jimmy Tupou

Date of Birth: 08/08/1992

Position: Lock, Blind Side Flanker

Biography: After starring for both Patumahoe and the New Zealand Under 20 side at the 2012 World Champs, Tupou earned selection into the Counties Manukau Steelers for the ITM Cup. The impressive Tupou played at lock, blind side flanker and number eight for the Steelers as they won the Championship division. He topped off a terrific 2012 season by picking up a Super Rugby contract with the Crusaders. He has captained Counties Manukau and has become a regular in the Crusaders line-up. Jimmy made the move to the Blues in 2017 and captained the franchise in their season opener.

Kane Hancy

Date of Birth: 22/11/1982

Position: Halfback/First Five

Biography: The experienced halfback was instrumental in leading Patumahoe to another Counties Manukau club title in 2012. He then went on to make the Counties Manukau Steelers, playing a handful of games off the bench to help close out games.


Sean Reidy

Position: Flanker

Biography: Reidy was a standout for Patumahoe in 2012. His general play was outstanding, while he also handled the goal-kicking duties to boot. Reidy went on to play for Counties Manukau B's before earning a call-up and debut for the Steelers senior team. He has since moved to Ireland, where he is playing professionally. Reidy made his international debut with Ireland in 2016.


Josh Van Lieshout

Biography: Josh van Lieshout has enjoyed a couple of terrific seasons with Patumahoe, becoming an integral part of their success. He has been involved in the Steelers set-up and was selected to the All Blacks Sevens side in early 2016.
